Resurrection Covenant has thought deeply about how we use our space and resources in service to our many communities. One of these resources - physical building space - has become what we pray is a blessing to our broader community. ResCov's Warming Center exists to be a safe place for people who could use some shelter during the day. The homeless community in Chicago has been hit hard by the closing of several shelters and warming centers over the past year; we hope to help ease their burden for a few hours a day with a roof, a warm meal, and the company of people who love Jesus.

The Warming Center is open every Friday, from 4-8 pm, in the first floor of the three-flat building directly east of the church. This is a brand-new ministry venture for the church, and it is sure to grow and change as we more fully realize the needs it can meet, as well as the potential it holds. ResCov welcomes each member of our community to journey with the Center, volunteering as each is able, and praying for God's blessing and provision for this ministry and those it seeks to serve.

We see in the heart of God and the life of Jesus Christ a model for caring for the poor and hungry. The Warming Center is a place where relationships are built, meals are served, and people are invited into community.

Without volunteers, our Warming Center could not exist. WE NEED YOU to share your time with us in this important ministry of ResCov. Volunteers are needed to staff the center every Friday from 4-8 (4-6 and 6-8 shifts are available), to prepare dinner each week, to put together sack lunches, and to donate supplies. Please contact Hauna Ondrey if you are interested in serving in any capacity for the Warming Center.
